Unit 9 Reflection

          This unit was about taxonomy. There are a bunch of classifications of different species. We learned about groups that got more and more specific until we were naming species as examples.           I'm still a little unsure about the categories and their characteristics.I want to learn more about taxonomy. It's a subject I'm interested in, but not for reason that some might think. I'm actually wondering about why we have it and why we categorize in so my ways. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have a general name for things, but why put them in all of these complex categories. I don't quite see what purpose they serve.
           In class, we had a project called What on Earth Evolved. Each person had a species that influenced the Earth and its development into what it is today. I did a presentation on wheat. I'm not a big public speaking person in general and usually get a high from all of the adrenaline before I speak in front of a lot of people. But I did a little better that I expected. I think that my presentation was okay as a whole, but I could've added a little more information and prepared a bit better. I think I now know to prepare more and to do something with my energy before. I was extremely restless due to my nerves. If you want to see my presentation, click here.
